Dishwasher cutlery baskets

Metal Detectors

The metal detector is a must have for any would be treasure hunter.  You can use it down on a nice picturesque beach or at a countryside retreat! Metal detectors are a perfect way to get out for a nice long walk in an adorable setting. Whether you are hoping to find an old Anglo Saxon treasure haul or just a fifty pence coin someone has dropped, it always gives you a great rush to hear the ping of the detector going off. Most of the time it is just a rusty nail or an old tin can, but you never know and that is what is so fascinating about it!

The most basic configuration of metal detector uses a BFO or beat-frequency oscillator. If the coil passes over a metal object a magnetic field caused by the current is created over the object. As it gets nearer the object the frequency and tone of the radio waves emitted become quicker and help you to locate your bounty.

There are also other types of detector that use different types of technology to locate the metallic object these include Very low frequency and Pulse induction.

Not only are these used for treasure hunting but also for security where hand held metal detectors can be ideal to check for hidden personal weapons. You will see these used extensively in airports or large events.

Metal detectors come in a very large and varied range of products. These start at the cheaper easier to use models ideal for the new starter or part time enthusiast, up to the more expensive underwater models aimed at the professional die hard.

I would definitely recommend getting your hands on one as they are a lot of fun and you never know you could strike gold!
