Sometimes your glassware will be left with white spots or an overall white colour film after a dishwasher cycle. You will, however, be pleased to know that this filming or spotting can be removed by wiping your glassware with an acidic solution of something like vinegar. You will obviously need to handwash the glassware carefully afterwards to get rid of the lingering smell of vinegar
The cause of this filming and spotting will include:
- Dishwasher salt. Even though you may use one of the 3 or 4 in 1 detergent products on the market, your dishwasher will still need the addition of salt to keep it working properly and to ensure your dishes are rinsed correctly. Your particular appliance will probably have a light signal to let you know when you need to add salt. Please be careful though that you do not overdose your dishwasher, as it can have the opposite effect and may actually be the cause of the filming.
